Yemeni Girls, too Young to Marry?

In Yemen, young girls are brought into forced marriages.  All of these girls are young and even some as young as 8 years old. These forced marriages take away their opportunities for better lives, true love or real relationships. Human Rights Watch has interviewed many girls and women saying that their early forced marriages had also cut them off from their education and they had been victims of marital rape and domestic abuse. HRW is pushing for Yemen's goverment to create a minimum age of about 18 for marriage as there is none at all currently. Should young girls be pushed into unwanted relationships which also limits their potential? Is it necessary to have a minimum legal age for marriage?
