United States, Not Helping in the Fight Against Child Soldier Use

US Must Enforce Ban Child Soldiers

Human Rights Watch spoke about a problem that needs to be addressed by the United States government. This is the fact of giving financial aid to the many countries that use child soldiers. For example the State Department released the new list of countries that use them. There are now seven countries that deploy child soldiers, it includes the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burma and South Sudan, which have done that for years. Five of the seven countries named on the list have one thing in common other than using child soldiers. They all receive financial support from the United States. Human Rights Watch is pushing for the United States government to stop this support and enforce their child soldier ban. How does this make the United States look? Do you want to be supporting child soldier use? If you live in the United States, let your representatives know how you feel.
