Some Things that Kids Can Do To Meet the NeedsAnd Further the Rights of Children Around the World

  1. Talk to your friends and make them aware of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Ask kids to think about their rights and needs and about the rights of children everywhere. Talk to both kids and grownups about it.

  2. Talk to your classes, and school assemblies.

  3. Write about it in your school and local newspapers.

  4. Ask your teachers to teach about it.

  5. Get signatures on petitions to send to governmental leaders asking them to ratify and enforce the Convention.

  6. Write letters to governmental leaders. Ask them to promise that, in each country, no child under 18 will ever be sent to war. Ask them to stop sending people to war-period. It is not good for anyone, under 18 or older.

  7. Go on radio and television talk shows. Speak to people wherever you can about the Rights of the Child.

  8. Make plays and drawings. Write songs. Hold an art exhibition about children's rights and needs.

  9. Have kids' workshops, meetings, and conferences. Get other kids and grownups involved in spreading the word. Speak to all the organzations you know about it.

  10. Hold fairs, concerts, and community celebrations for Children's Rights.

  11. Write to friends in different parts of your country and in different countries of the world. Talk about the Rights of the Child, the needs of children and what kids and grownups can do to help.

  12. Be kind to one another. Make you own world fair and peaceful.

  13. Help kids who need help in your neighborhoods, your cities and towns. Do what you can to see that they get their rights and are treated fairly.

  14. Find out more about kids' needs and rights in the world.

  15. Form a network of kids who are working together.

  16. When you grow up, don't forget what it's like to be a kid.

  17. Get involved in helping to make things better in the world. Get people to help you.

  18. Stay in school. Get educated. Help make the world work even better.

  19. Think of two other things that you can do.
